Overall, the new home is nice. In the first 8 monts we have had a few electrical issues, a problem with the fence gate falling apart, and minor finish issues such as paint drips on the floor and over outlet and switch plates. Our two biggest issues, aside from 3 breakers that had to be replaced and installed correctly at three different times, are the landscaping and the interior paint. The landscaping was rushed, and they did place a thick enough rock layer to prevent weeds, did not start with a crushed stone layer to prevent weeds, and did not install a weed barrier. These would have been more affordable and infinitely easier to do during construction. To fix what is now a huge weed issue, we would have to move the existing rock, place crushed stone and/or a weed barrier, and move the rocks back. The interior was done in a completely matte finish. This covered up construction flaws, but now the paint stains extremely easily, comes off when cleaning the walls, and is basically extremely fragile, looking really bad after only a few months.
I would stay clear. The house has had many issues they claim to have a warranty but I put in a request and they never show up and when I followed up they said someone would contact me and they never did. 1 year later and they never even came by to fix issue ended up spending thousands to fix some issues
Where do I start, been here 2 months, fridge door won't close, called Kelly who messed with it, can't fix it! So called GE they came out and stated worst fridge can't believe they put these in houses, made for garages, won't replace, will order parts until the warranty runs out huh?? Now today water pouring out of the wall in my bedroom. Are you kidding me!!! No one answers the phones, im pissed!!! Starlight , what's going on here? A 2 month old house!!!
If you are looking for a quality home, DO NOT BUY FROM STARLIGHT AT WALES RANCH. Lot 113I am very disappointed in the quality of these homes. After putting down the earnest deposit on a home, I would routinely check up on the home's progress. Since I work & manage in the construction world, I have a pretty good idea & understanding on what to look for. I also hired a 3rd party inspector to further reinforce the claims I was making. After sending in the report, we were able to schedule a home walk with the Starlight construction team to walk the home. While addressing our concerns & the present issues in the inspection report, we were meet with a very hostile & unprofessional tone and language. We were told that most items we had addressed would not be addressed. We tried to escalate this issue and we met a brick wall. There were no steps forward and were left wondering what to do. After finally getting a response, we decided to back out of the home. These were the issues we had encountered.- Hole under bathtub was not grouted to spec- Hole for utilities to kitchen island was not grouted to spec after island was placed in the wrong location- Post Tension Cable for the home's foundation was damaged, and was told that the floor was not X-rayed- Walls were not straight, they waved in and out- Baseboards were crooked- Outlets were crooked- Baseboards were put together incorrectly when they would be hidden by appliances- Kitchen countertops were supported and leveled by a singular shimThese were just a the ones I could remember from the inspection that took place almost a month ago. Please do not buy from Starlight homes, especially this location. If you are curious about the home on Lot 113 and the issues I found, please reach out to me and I can share all photos & the 3rd party inspection report.
I had the opportunity to work along side with Chris on my buyer's homes purchase. He always communicated with me throughout the whole process and made this transaction very smooth. Even after some unforeseen situations that were out of our control, we were able to make this transaction go through making it a happy ending for my client's.
